Greetings once again!
Well, June was very good times and very bad times.  We were rained (and hailed out of the Foley Parade on
the 20th.  A couple of cars got caught in the rain and hail, but fortunately, no damage was done.  I hope the weather
holds (or held, dependent on when you read this
) for the big parade in Annandale on July 4th!
It’s been so hot and dry, except for that parade, and there is a chance of rain, though slight, on the 4th.  It doesn’t
seem fair!
Unbelievable as it seems, we’re marching into July already.  The days are getting shorter (hiss, boo) and
events are rolling by.  It’s been a good summer, so far, with many more runs and cruises coming up.  We’ve had
great turnouts at everything, and that’s super!
June 23 found us up near Brooten for Dave and Kathy Terpstra’s Mystery Lunch Cruise.  I led the group up
to Sauk Center and did great until I had to make a right turn and drove right past instead.  It’s the story of my life.  I
don’t ever know where I’m going.  However, on the positive side, I sure do see a lot of scenic country, and it’s always
new to me!  Anyway, back to my story.  After lunch, as part of the cruise, Dave and Kathy took us over to a friend of
theirs who’s a big game hunter.  His home puts Cabella’s to shame.  I’ve never seen so many big game trophies all in
one place before.  Tom Thoele sent out pictures to the club and I’m sure you’ve seen those.  Very impressive.  After-
wards, we went to Dave and Kathy’s for some wonderful dessert.  It was a great time, and thank you Dave and Kathy!
Ron and Mary Bulthuis’ Mystery Lunch Cruise will be taking place on July 14.  This will be a good one, too.  I
remember last year’s Mystery Run by them, and when we got to where we were going, they were still the only ones to
whom it wasn’t a mystery to where we had gone!  We were (I think!) really out in the boonies.  It was great and a good
time was had by all.  Don’t miss this year’s!
Also coming up, on Saturday, July 28, is the Fort Snelling cruise, hosted by Allegra and myself.  If you’ve
never been down there, in the old Fort, you really want to come.  Everyone dresses in period costumes and is well-
schooled in the appropriate time period, and never break character.  There will be soldiers, wives, storekeepers, of-
fices, enlisted men, jailers, etc., etc.  It’s really fascinating to talk with these people and learn about how things were
in those days.  I guarantee you’ll love it!  Following our time at the Fort, we’ll take a short hop across the river to an
excellent restaurant for those who wish to come.  Once we’ve eaten, we’ll be heading back, or go our separate ways,
as everyone desires.
August is a really full month, with something going on nearly every weekend.  The only time we’ll be shutting
the Vettes down, will be to refuel.  Which reminds me…it cost me 50 bucks to fill it this week!  How sad is that?  Any-
way, Luther Chevrolet has invited the club down for a grand opening Corvette display on August 4th, with a barbeque
and media present.  Sounds like a great time.  It’s the old Iten Chev location, which is now Luther Brookdale
Chevrolet.  As soon as I receive more details, I’ll get them out.
The CMCA Club Picnic will be on Saturday, August 11th, and should be a real treat this year, as it will be
hosted by Rick and Deb Murphy at their lake cabin.  I can’t wait!
As a side note, the Mystery Lunch Cruise, hosted by Allegra and myself, has been moved to August 18, due
to family commitments.
Another exciting month in a fun-filled summer!  Watch for coming details and mark your calendars.  See you
on the road!
