They will donate car col-
lection, cash
A Calumet County, Wi.
Couple with a fancy for fast
cars is on the road again
after pledging a $1.3 mil-
lion gift to the National Cor-
vette Museum in Bowling
Green, Ky., where they just
picked up their sixth Cor-
vette. Rather than bring
their new, black 2007 Z06
immediately back to Wis,
where slush and salt are
imminent, Mary & Ivan
Schrodt of Sherwood de-
cided to take a slight de-
tour, through Florida.  “The
museum means a lot to
them, and it means a lot to
us that they care as much
as they do,” Lee  said, not-
ing the museum is not affili-
ated with General Motors
Chevrolet Division.  The
donation will help fund a
planned $14 million expan-
sion of the museum.  A siz-
able portion of the
Schrodts’ trust fund will
also go to the Rawhide
Boys Ranch, because the
couple also wanted to help
an organization that re-
flected their interests. Ivan
is a retired director of re-
search and development
for Kimberly-Clark Corp.
Their collection consists of
a 1966 convertible, a 1980
L-88, a 1996 convertible, a
202 Z06, a 2004 red con-
vertible and the Z06 they
picked up at the museum
Saturday.  They are mem-
bers of the Appleton’s Val-
ley Vettes Corvette Club as
well as the museum, have
always been fond of sports
cars but didn’t start collect-
ing them until about 10
years ago.  “It’s what we
do, “  Mary Schrodt said.
