Hello once again!
This time, this is my final President’s letter!  I want to thank everyone for a wonderful two years of working
with all of you.  CMCA is a healthy, vital and dynamic club.  What I believe to be real indicators of that are these three things:
The high level of participation in club events
The willingness of so many of you to become new hosts
The wonderful people who are our members, both long-time and relatively new We have a very high level of enthusiasm in
our club.  It’s fantastic and a real joy!  Keep it coming!
We had a great turnout for the Fall Business Meeting, ate a lot of appetizers,  and moved forward on some very im-
portant issues regarding club business.
The 2008 CMCA Winter Party was discussed.  Jack, Luan, Erik and Robin Monsos have graciously volunteered to
host this party.  The location will be the Waterfront Bar and Supper club, just outside of Annandale.  The date will be January
19, with the party beginning with a 4:00pm Happy Hour and meal to follow around 5:30pm.  An email announcement will be
forthcoming soon, with directions and all pertinent information, as the restaurant requires a final head count by January 10.
Be sure to write this one on your calendar!  It’s always well-attended and a super time, with excellent food and many drawings
for prizes.  Great fun!
Next up will be the 2008 CMCA Chili Challenge hosted by Mark and Kathy Dooher.  You will be informed of a date
and time, and any particulars, via email, on that one.  It’ll take place sometime in February.  This event is a lot of fun.  For
those of you who have not yet attended a Chili Challenge, people bring their concoctions, in crock pots, which are then num-
bered.  After everyone has at least sampled all the various epicurean delights, they vote for the one they like the best.  Prizes,
and, especially, bragging rights, are awarded to the first three places. You don’t have to create a chili to attend, but will then
probably be asked to bring something else, such as sour cream, cheese, onions, ice cream, etc., to complement the evening.
Let Mark and Kathy know what you’re planning on bringing so they can balance the menu.  Start working up your recipes now!
The more the variety of chili, the better!  We’ll make sure plenty of ice water, fire extinguishers, and Tums are on hand
The 2008 Spring Meeting will be taking place in April.  An email will be sent letting you know a date, time and location
for that very important meeting.  This is the meeting when we discuss, and set, the summer events for the club.  It is extremely
important for members to attend so we can get a full schedule of things YOU want to do and make it another glorious year.
It’s never too early to be thinking about things you may want to see next year!
Also, as a side note, I will distribute items ordered through the Club Apparel Program at the Spring Meeting, which is
another reason to attend.  I will be sending out the flyer, which will include pictures of all items, prices, an order form, instruc-
tions, etc., in late January.  I will let you know beforehand that it will be coming.  This year some club members, of the femi-
nine persuasion, will be helping choose some of the women’s clothing that will be offered.  That help, and expertise, is greatly
appreciated!
The Club Bylaws were discussed at length.  The decision was made to revise these Bylaws and present those revi-
sions to the membership, at the 2008 Fall Meeting, for approval.  The Bylaws, as written, are very limiting in many ways.  The
Bylaws are extremely important to the integrity of, and, for the protection, of the club.  It is, therefore, necessary they be formu-
lated such that they can be logically followed and still protect the club.
Another important element that was discussed was a Spring Meeting membership vote on the creation of an event
disbursement fund, of approximately $1200, over and above the regular budget, for the 2008 Corvette season.  This will allow
us to spend down some of the excess monies the club currently possesses.
Much discussion took place on last season’s events.  We will be repeating some of them, expanding others and add-
ing new.  2008 will be an exciting year, and I can’t wait!
Election of new officers also took place and the following will be holding club offices during 2008:
   President: Ron Bulthuis
   Vice-President: Lynn Steenblock
   Secretary: Cris Drais
   Treasurer: Duane DeWenter
Thank you and congratulations to all of you as we look forward to the upcoming year! (CONT PG 2)
