Greetings once more!
We had a wonderful turnout for the Fourth of July parade in Annandale!  Several rows of side-by-side Cor-
vettes were indeed a sight to see!  The only problem was the temperature…was it hot!  However, as tough as we are
(LOL) it was no problem and we had a ball!  Everyone really loved the cars and we were a big hit!  Afterwards, several
of us cruised over to the Brickyard, in Clear Lake, for lunch.  A great day was had by all!
Ron and Mary Bulthuis hosted a Mystery Lunch Cruise on July 14 which was excellent.  We began in Rice,
stopped for a short rest at last year’s Mystery location (I still don’t know where we were
) and ended up in Sauk
Center, at the Parker House Hotel, which is supposed to be haunted.  We took a tour of the hotel as lunch was being
prepared and had a really good time…lots of laughs, camaraderie and good food followed.  A wonderful time was had
by all!
On Saturday, July 28th, we headed down to Fort Snelling.  The drive down wasn’t the greatest as there had
been an accident, on 94, and it took us an extra hour to get to the Fort.  Traffic was really terrible due to the holdup.
But, we eventually made it, and had a great time.  All the Fort personnel were in period costumes and very well-
versed in their roles as soldiers, storekeepers, blacksmiths, wives, carpenters, cooks, etc., back in 1829.  It was very
informative and interesting.  We even got to see them shoot off the cannon!  Was it loud!  Afterwards, we headed
over to Axel’s Bonfire Grill in Mendota Heights, a really nice place with good food….a very pleasant ending to a very
pleasant day.
Luther Chevrolet had invited the club down to participate in a Grand Opening Celebration Corvette Display,
on August 4th, with a barbeque and media present.  However, I was getting very little detail and information from
them, and then, upon a lot of questioning, discovered they had decided to postpone their event until next year.  To be
honest, I was not particularly happy with their communication and way they handled the whole thing.
The CMCA Club Picnic will be on Saturday, August 11th, and should be a real treat this year, as it will be
hosted by Rick and Deb Murphy at their lake cabin.  They’ve been busy working hard preparing for the event and it
should be a real treat!  I can’t wait!  As a side note, we’ll be leaving from the McStop, just off 94, in St. Cloud, at 10:15.
For those of you who live to the south, or those who don’t know where the McStop is, if you wish, you can meet at
my place, 612 East River Street, in Monticello, and we’ll caravan up to the McStop.  We’ll be leaving my place at
9:30am.  Please don’t forget to RSVP Rick and Deb at 320-293-4491 or by email at Deb7458@aol.com

As a side note, I once again have decided to move my, and Allegra’s, Mystery Lunch Cruise from Saturday,
August 18th , to Saturday, September 8th.  That puts it just about in the middle of a couple of scheduled events, rather
than stacking runs on consecutive weekends.  It keeps things a tad more even and spread out.  Please mark your
calendars.  I promise you a good one!
I’m lining up a couple of Ice Cream Runs, also.  Those are always fun and well-received.  In addition, if time
permits, maybe we can do a run, or two, to some of the many car shows around.  They always have burger, etc., spe-
cials and it’s a good time looking at all the cars and shooting the breeze with different people.
Whew!  Lots of stuff happening, a whole lot of planning going on by a lot of people, and all well worth it!
Summer is going by so fast, I can’t even believe it.  Summer is not just for the kids to “cut loose”, it’s also for us!
Keep the gas tank full and the engine warm, there’s plenty of time to cool that Corvette off during the winter!  Another
exciting month in a fun-filled summer!  See you on the road!
Later,
Ed
