Corvette Happenings!!
May 6 Spring Brunch
May 19 Mystery Lunch
May 31 Mystery Dinner
Greetings to all!
Well, as I write this, it’s snowing and sleeting outside.  Never mind that it was in the 80’s
last week and Allegra and I were out roaring around in the Corvette.  Just remember, this too shall
pass, for, spring has finally sprung and our “Corvette Summer” is nearly upon us!
There was a great turnout for the March 31 Spring Planning Meeting at the Brickyard.  We
got many things scheduled, had many volunteers for hosts to help with planning and handling the
events, and a good time was had by all.  Unfortunately, however, the appetizers were great and I ate
way too much.  From now on, I will be eating a normal lunch before leaving the house, or else I will
end up looking like a house!
This will be another fabulous year in which we’ll have many, many events to choose from.
Some dates are locked in, and some are still tentative, as a few details remain to be worked out.
Notice and updating will be continuous throughout the Spring, Summer and Fall.  Prepare for a great
season!
Mary will be developing a schedule to be included in the newsletter which will be updated
every month as things are completed, and new events added.  Be sure to look carefully at every-
thing.  I’m sure there will be many items that you will want to attend.
The first official event of the season will be the May 6, Spring Brunch, followed by a cruise.
Jeff and Cris Drais always do a wonderful job with this.  The food has always been great, the com-
pany even better and the cruise a delightful way to top it all off.  It makes for a wonderful Sunday.  It
is always well attended.  There will be emails coming out on this with details.
May also finds us on Saturday, May 19, heading up to Brainerd, for a Mystery Lunch
Cruise, hosted by Tom and Sue Thoele.  We’ll be meeting at Hennen’s Furniture, in St. Cloud, and
buzz up Highway 10 to Randall to meet Tom and Sue, and go from there.  Afterwards we’ll be head-
ing over to their place for dessert.  Times and so forth will be coming out in emails and the newslet-
ter.
Also, in May, is a Friday, May 31st, Mystery dinner Cruise, hosted by Country Chevrolet.
This was a great event last year and you’re sure to have a super time.  Arrangements, meeting
times, and place, will be forthcoming in emails and the newsletter.
June finds us looking at an overnight the weekend of June 8-10.  Stay tuned for details on
this one..  Also in June is a Mystery Lunch Cruise on Saturday, June 23 and the Foley Parade, on
Wednesday, June 27, hosted by Murphy Chevrolet.
July also finds us in Annandale for their big Wednesday, 4th of July, parade.  This event will
be hosted by Country Chevrolet.  Also in July is a Mystery Lunch Cruise on Saturday, July 14.  As a
side note, these parades are great!  People really love these cars and a long string of them is really
neat to see.  Come to both parades, throw candy to the kids, rev the engine and wave to the people.
They love it and it is a ball!
July will finish up with a run to Fort Snelling, with dinner following, on Saturday, July 28th
For those of you unfamiliar with what goes on there, it’s absolutely great!  All participating people are
in period costumes and are highly trained in their roles as soldiers, shopkeepers, jailers, blacksmith,
wives, officers, etc., etc.  They will stay in character and it’s a fascinating, really fun way to spend
time browsing through some history.  It gets to be really interesting and a ball.  I expect this to be a
highly attended event.
Saturday, August 11, finds us at Deb and Rick Murphy’s new cabin for the club picnic.
These get-togethers at their place are always a blast!  Plan to attend!  Also, in August, is a Mystery
Lunch Cruise on Saturday, the 25th
September finds Tom Thoele planning the Fall color Run, currently set for the weekend of
the 21-23rd.
